Fertile-Beltrami at Climax/Fisher

It was a win and in situation between these two teams to get to play in the Pine to Prairie Conference Championship on Saturday. Fertile-Beltrami looked like they wanted to put it away early after a three both Mya Erickson and Indigo Oistad, and then an and-1 bucket from Katrina Hitchen to make it a 9-0 lead. Climax/Fisher would get within 5 but then the Falcons had another 15-4 offensive spurt, including a 7-0 run at the end of it to make it 31-14. Climax/Fisher ended the half on a 6-0 run to make it just an 11 point deficit at the break.

That’s when the Hoffman sisters went to work. Climax/Fisher picked up exactly how they ended the first half and scored the first 9 points of the second half to get within 2. The two teams would go back and forth and Climax/Fisher got their first lead of the game at 41-40. Fertile-Beltrami would go on one last small 6-0 run down the stretch which was enough to come away with the 8 point win to send them to the Pine to Prairie Conference Championship which will be played in their gym on Saturday.

Peyton Hoffman had 15 second half points, her sister, Brooklyn cleaned the glass well on her way to a 17 point, 14 rebound double-double. Fertile-Beltrami’s Bailey Iverson scored all 12 of her points in the second half and also tallied 10 rebounds for a double-double.
