GBB Fosston at Ada-Borup-West

Fosston held off Ada-Borup-West 63-57 in Ada Thursday night.   The Greyhounds and Cougars each had players with foul troubles — two players from Fosston fouled out, both teams reserves contributed quality minutes– Fosston was 24 of 34 free throws, Ada-Borup-West was 8 of 14 from the free throw line.

Ada-Borup-West’s Izzy Marcussen and Fosston’s Lexi Mahlen put their respective teams on their shoulders early— Marcussen scored 14 points with Mahlen scoring 10 for the Greyhounds as the two teams played to the game’s first tied score, 16-16 midway through the first half.   Ada-Borup-West had three starters and a reserve each with two fouls eventually sidelined with the Greyhounds having one player with three fouls at halftime.  Fosston led 34-27 at halftime.

The game saw six tied scores, the last tie was 53-53, the last lead change, 6th of the game— 54-53 was with 3:30 remaining. It was a one point game, Fosston leading 56-55 with 1:24 to play.  A Cougar turnover led to a Greyhound basket wrapped with some free throws for the seperation on the scoreboad. Fosston is 19-1, winners of eight consecutive games.  Ada-Borup-West is 12-4 as their five game win streak was snapped.
