Fertile, MN — The Fosston Greyhounds picked up their fourth win of the season with a 55-43 victory over the Fertile-Beltrami Falcons on Thursday night.

While the game didn’t start out pretty for either team on the offensive end, the Greyhounds were able to find a little rhythm behind Brynlea Mahnlen’s 14 first half points to take a 29-11 lead into the break. From there, the Greyhounds were able to keep the Falcons at bay. At one point, Fosston took a 21 point lead but credit Fertile-Beltrami for continuing to chip into the deficit. The Falcons very nearly got the deficit to single digits but at that time it was too little too late as time was not on their side. The Falcons would lose 55-43 to fall to 2-2 on the season and will play four games next week, beginning with Cass Lake-Bena on Monday. The Fosston Greyhounds are now 4-0 and will play at Mahnomen/Waubun next Tuesday.
