The Fosston Greyhounds rallied to pull off an exciting 38-34 win at Fergus Falls Hillcrest Lutheran Academy Thursday night. Sophomore Brydin Daniel scored a 24 yard touchdown with 3:10 left in the game to lift the Greyhounds to the season opening win. Daniel had scored on a 34 yard run earlier in the game and rushed for 122 yards for Fosston. Jakob Rudie scored three touchdowns for the Greyhounds on runs of 2, 28 and 4 yards. Thor Ewan scored on a 65 yard run on the first play of the game to give the Comets a 6-0 lead. It was one of three touchdowns scored by Ewan including a 75 yard interception return for a touchdown. Ryne Duppong rushed for 222 yards for Fosston as the Greyhounds start the season at 1-0. Ethan Swedberg threw two touchdown passes for Hillcrest Lutheran as the Comets start the season at 0-1. It was the second straight year the two teams opened their seasons against each other with Fosston winning 45-36 last year in Fosston. The Greyhounds tool their first lead of the game when Rudie scored on a 4 yard run on the first play of the fourth quarter. Fosston will host Win-E-Mac in their next game on Friday, September 6th (1480-AM/99.7 FM). Hillcrest Lutheran Academy will return to action on Friday, September 6th when they travel to Ortonville.
