GBB Fosston at Red Lake County Central

The Fosston Greyhounds snapped a two game losing skid with a hard fought 46-44 win at Oklee on Monday night. Eighth Grader Aubrey Halvorson connected on a three point play with 3:55 remaining in the game to give the Mustangs a 44-43 lead but the Greyhounds would take the lead for good at 46-44 and that’s the way the game would end. Lexi Mahlen led Fosston with 20 points as the Greyhounds improve to 4-3 overall. Brielle Duppong added 11 points and Miley Hove 10 points for the Greyhounds. Aubrey Halvorson led Red Lake County Central with 14 points as the Mustangs suffered their second straight loss and fall to 4-2 overall after starting the season at 4-0. Quinn Graves pitched in with 10 points and eighth grader Isabelle Paradis hit two 3 pointers and ended up with 6 points for the Mustangs. Red Lake County Central overcame an eight point deficit in the first half and led 25-21 at halftime. Fosston won the “B” Squad game 35-15. The Greyhounds will return to action on Thursday, December 19th when they travel to Badger/Greenbush-Middle River. The Mustangs will also play their next game on Thursday, December 19th when they host the Warren-Alvarado-Oslo Ponies.
