Fosston at Rothsay

Rothsay, MN — The Fosston Greyhounds stayed red hot on Friday night, piling up another 50 points and rolling past the Rothsay Tigers 50-16 to improve to 5-1 on the season.

Senior running back Brydin Daniel delivered a spectacular performance for Fosston, needing just 11 carries to rack up 329 rushing yards and score five touchdowns. Daniel accounted for five of the Greyhounds’ six touchdowns on the night, with four of those scoring runs coming from 40 yards or more as he repeatedly broke through the Rothsay defense for explosive plays.

The Greyhounds’ other touchdown came on a 1-yard quarterback sneak by Noah Martinson, helping Fosston build a commanding lead early. The Greyhounds dominated the first half, taking a 44-8 advantage into the locker room before cruising to the 50-16 victory.

For Rothsay, Ben Metzger found the end zone on a 31-yard touchdown run, while James Stockinger added a 2-yard rushing score late in the second half. Despite the Tigers’ efforts, Fosston’s big-play offense proved too much to overcome.

With the win, the Greyhounds move to 5-1 on the season and now turn their attention to a key section showdown next Wednesday when they host the Clearbrook-Gonvick Bears. Rothsay falls to 3-3 and will look to bounce back next week when the Tigers host the Hancock Owls.
