For the second straight year, Sacred Heart has won the Region 8A Boys Basketball championship.  The Eagles defeated Fosston 58-47 Saturday in Thief River Falls to punch their return ticket to the State Tournament.

Sacred Heart jumped to a 13-2 lead early in the game and Fosston could never catch up.  The Greyhounds did cut the gap to 40-34 with 7:38 to play in the second half, but the Eagles regained their momentum and pushed the lead back to double digits.

Ethan Arntson led Sacred Heart with 17 points, with Parker Erickson scoring 13 and Landon Denney adding ten points and ten rebounds.  The Eagles will take a 27-4 record into next week’s Class A State Boys Basketball Tournament.

Aaron Norland had 13 points for Fosston, with Cullen Norland scoring 12 and Zach Theis ten for the Greyhounds, who end their season 25-6.
