Fosston vs. East Grand Forks Sacred Heart

The Fosston Greyhounds scored four runs in the first inning and held off a couple of charges from East Grand Forks Sacred Heart to win 6-4 and win the Section 8A Championship at Bemidji State University. The Greyhounds will be making their fourth trip to the State Baseball Tournament in school history and will play in the Quarterfinals next Tuesday, June 13th in St. Cloud. Tommy Simonson had two doubles and went 3 for 4 at the plate as Fosston improves to 21-4 overall. Carsen Boushee and Aaron Norland each had two hits for Fosston. Carsen Boushee picked up the win on the mound for Fosston with Cullen Norland coming in to pick up the save. Ethan Arntson and Breck Bloom each had two hits for EGF Sacred Heart as the defending Section 8A Champions end their season at 17-7. The Greyhounds won three of the four meetings between the two teams this season. Fosston will play in the State Tournament in St. Cloud next Tuesday, June 13th against a yet to be determined opponent.
