Karter Peterson scored 25 points to lead Thompson to a 69-47 victory over Four Winds-Minnewaukan Friday night at Thompson.
Fellow forward Gavin Krogstad added 18 points, including 4 three-point baskets, as the fifth-ranked Tommies improved to 10-3 on the season and 4-1 in Class A Region 2 play.
After leading 17-16 after a see-saw first quarter, Thompson led 28-33 at the half, 48-33 after 3 quarters and the final margin was the Tommies’ biggest lead of the night.
Thompson also out-rebounded the Indians 41-17. The Tommies committed 17 turnovers to Four Winds-Minnewaukan’s 10. At the foul line, Thompson was 13 of 17, while the Indians were 9 of 12.
Ronald McKay led Four Winds-Minnewaukan (8-4, 1-2 in Region 2) with 21 points and Marial Deng added 12. The Indians play at Grafton next Thursday.
Thompson is off until Tuesday, when they host Fargo Oak Grove.
