Erskine, MN — The Win E Mac Patriots lost to the Goodridge/Grygla Chargers on Friday night 24-6 and injuries all night long played a key role.

On the opening offensive play of the game for the Patriots, star Senior Running Back/Wide Receiver Ryan Kansas came out of the game with a knee injury and would be out the rest of the game. The Chargers would score on their first two possessions of the game to take an early lead and would never allow the Win E Mac offense to get started in Kangas’s absence and even forcing a safety at one point to lead 18-0 at half. Goodridge/Grygla did commit 3 turnovers still on offense so there were a few bright spots for the Patriots. They would allow one more touchdown to go up 24-0 and the Patriots only score was a 7-yard touchdown pass in the fourth quarter from Braylon Hamre to Cameron Bergman. Senior Wyatt Davis for the Patriots also got injured in the game and late in the fourth quarter, running back Bergan Howard left with what appeared to be a high ankle sprain according to Head Coach Aaron Cook. Win E Mac falls to 2-1 on the season and will play at Fertile-Beltrami next Friday with a high likelihood of being without Kangas, Howard and, Davis for the game. Goodridge/Grygla is now 2-1 on the year and will host Warren-Alvarado-Oslo next weeks.
