Preview
Another dominating performance on both sides of the ball vaulted Pequot Lakes to a win in Grand Rapids and a 4-0 start to the season.
With the score tied at seven, Pequot Lakes outscored the Thunderhawks 40-15 the rest of the first half. The offense once again showcased balance and the ability to score from all angles. The defense continued it’s torrid start to the year, frustrating Grand Rapids and forcing them to play faster than they wanted.
In the second half, the Patriots kept the pedal to the floor and crashed the offensive glass for an even bigger advantage, outscoring Grand Rapids 36-12 for the final score of 83-34. All four opponents have been held to 34 points or less.
Mason Lundgren again led the scoring off the bench with 14. Harrison Kennen tallied 13 and Brayden Dornseif with 10. Gus Bolz-Andolshek provided even more spark from the bench with nine points and two steals.
The win was the fourth straight in the series for the Patriots as they will host their holiday tournament beginning Friday, December 27th against undefeated Mora. Grand Rapids falls to 2-4 with the loss.
