Grand Rapids defeated Pequot Lakes for the fourth straight time after bouncing back from an opening set loss to take down the Patriots on their home floor 3-1.

The first set was a seesaw battle with 14 ties and 11 lead changes. Each team had two set points before Pequot Lakes grabbed a 28-26 win.

The Thunderhawks would win the next three 25-18, 25-22 and 25-23. Set three featured an early 11-2 Thunderhawk run, and they used a pair of 6-0 runs in the fourth set, including the final six points to claim the match.

It was an up and down match for the Patriots, who saw a four-game win streak snapped as they lose for only the second time this year (9-2). Grand Rapids improved to 8-7.

Brooklin Hansen has 29 assists and three kills for Pequot Lakes. Mia Trumpold turned in 15 kills and three aces.

Piper Sweeney paced the Thunderhawks with 33 assists and six kills. Paisley Sweeney dumped 14 kills and two aces while Ari Johnson also reached double digits with ten kills.
