The Henning Hornets will have the opportunity to defend their section title from 2025 after advancing with a semifinal win over the Breckenridge Cowboys 80-57. The Cowboys came out swinging with an aggressive defense that kept the Hornets from finding their offensive success early. The Cowboys would lead 13-4 before back to back to back Three-Pointers from Zach Weidrich put the Hornets in position to take a 24-23 lead with 5:11 remaining in the first half. a 7-0 run at the before halftime helped ensure the Hornets would not trail again in the game. Once the Hornets would their offensive rhythm it was hard to stop with Kale Misegades (37 points, 4 made 3-pt.) and Zach Weidrich (23 points, 5 made 3-pt.) combining for enough scoring to eclipse the Cowboy’s total on the scoreboard. Henning remains undefeated at 29-0 and will advance to the Section Championship to face the Park Christian Falcons on Friday night. Breckenridge will end their season at 22-7 overall and graduates four Seniors.
