Henning vs. West Central Area
The Henning Hornets claimed the Section 6 Championship with a 72-51 win over the West Central Area Knights. Both offenses were slow to find their stride in the first half and played it close with no more than five points separating the teams before halftime. Similar to the other playoff games by the Hornets this seson, they responded at halftime and started the second half strong with a quick 9-1 run and lead 33-28 early in the second half. As the Hornets started to pull away the Knights leaned on their defesne for a pair of takeaways and transition scores cut a 10-pint margin down and trail 45-41 with just over eight minutes remaining. At that point it was the Henning defense that stood firm the rest of the game, ending the game on a 27-10 scoring run to claim their first section title since 2020.
