A late rally by the Cavalier tornadoes to tie the game was snuffed out in the final minute as a Hillsboro/Central Valley three-pointer gave them the lead and allowed them to hang on for the 53-49 victory. The Burros took the largest lead of the game at 12 points early in the fourth quarter, but the Tornadoes responded with a 9-0 run to pull close and then tied the game at 49-49 with :40 seconds remaining. On the ensuing possession the Burros knocked down the go-ahead three-pointer to take the lead and added one of two free throws in the closing seconds for the final 54-49 margin.
