Hillsboro-Central Valley 3 Drayton-Valley-Edinburg 2 (27-25, 16-25, 23-25, 25-21, 15-13)

A five set battle seemed to be the perfect end to the Region 2 Quarterfinals as the Hillsboro/Central Valley Burros came back to defeat the Drayton/Valley-Edinburg Titans 3-2. The first set was close throughout with a balanced Burro hitting attack helping them to take the opening set. The Titans then stormed out in the second set and took advantage of Burro errors to even the match at 1-1. The following two sets returned to be close affairs with Elizabeth Fedje (13 kills in the set) helping lead the Titans to the third set win before the Burros started the fourth set on an 8-0 run the road to the win to tie the match at 2-2 and set up the decisive final set. The Burros’ Carsi Hatlestad and Abigail Anderson helped the Burros extend and early lead with a trio of kills in the set as they closed out the match with the 15-13 win in the fifth set.
