Hillsboro Central Valley vs Lisbon

Recap

The Lisbon Broncos held off a fourth-quarter rally by the Hillsboro/Central Valley Burros for the 22-18 Homecoming Night Victory. Hillsboro/Central Valley would score first by driving 62-yards after their defense recovered a fumble with Tyson Leshuk sneaking in from a yard out for the 6-0 lead. Lisbon would respond on the next drive with a 67-yard drive with their quarterback Jordan Bittner rushing in from 12-yards out and taking a 7-6 lead after the successful PAT. The Burros looked to take a lead before halftime as they drove into Bronco territory before Lisbon would recover a fumble at their own 28-yard line to keep the 7-6 score into halftime. Penalties effected both teams after the break (both teams would have long touchdowns called back by penalties) before Lisbon extended the lead on a pair of Jordan Bittner Touchdown runs to lead 22-6 as we went to the fourth quarter. Then the Burros would rally with Carson Kozojed capping a Touchdown drive with a three-yard run before the Burro defense forced and recovered a fumble on the next Bronco possession. the short field lead to Elijah Smallbeck catching a Touchdown from seven-yards away to bring the Burros within a one-score game with just under four minutes remaining. Lisbon would bleed the clock over the final minutes though and grind out the first downs they needed to win the game. Lisbon snaps a 2-game losing streak and will end their season next week by hosting the Thompson Tommies. The Burros fall to 1-7 and will wrap up their season next week at home versus the Northern Cass Jaguars.
