Hillsboro Central Valley vs Park River

A game winning Touchdown as time expired gave the Park River Area Aggies a 12-7 win over the Hillsboro Central Valley Burros. Both teams looked to run the ball, resulting in a quick pace but low scoring game. Park River Area struck first with a near seven-minute long drive ending in a Tucker Omdahl 3-yard run to go ahead early in the second quarter with a 6-0 lead. The margin would stay the same through halftime until the Burros second half drive nearly doubled their entire first half offensive output. They would go 68-yards on the possession with Tyson Leshuk finding Chase Haffley for a seven-yard scoring pass and 7-0 lead after the successful PAT. Neither offense would do much more until the final moments of the game. Following a turnover on downs the Aggies received the ball on their own 41 yard line with only 23 seconds remaining in the game and non timeouts. They would complete a 9 yard pass, clock the ball, and then complete a 34 yard catch while getting out of bounds to stop the clock on third down to move up to the 16-yardline with only 3 seconds left. With only one chance to win the game the Aggies found Luke Shirek on a seam route up the middle who went up to make the catch for the touchdown as time ran out to snap a streak of 15 straight losses by the Aggies. Both teams now have 1-1 records on the season and will play home games next week with Park River Area hosting Rugby while Hillsboro Central Valley will face Thompson in Central Valley.
