Kindred vs Northern Cass

The Northern Cass Jaguars hosted the Kindred Vikings in ND Division A Region 1 Girls Basketball action Monday night. Both teams played evenly in the first half, but a big run from the Vikings entering the second helped secure a Kindred 66-55 victory.

Both teams exchanged the lead in the opening half, as the first half saw neither team lead by more than four. Kindred would take the 24-20 lead into the halftime break. The Vikings used that lead to spark a momentous 9-0 run to start the second half. The host Jags got the lead down to six a few times but Siera Nipstad and Liza Trenbeath knocked down clutch buckets down the stretch to seal the victory.

Nipstad and Trenbeath led the Vikings with 25 and 20 points respectively. Haidyn Crockett once again led the Jaguars in the setback with 34. Kindred improves to 5-3 with the victory while Northern Cass drops to 6-4. Kindred will look to keep the winning ways going as they travel to Devils Lake Friday and Saturday for a Division A shootout against the host Firebirds and Rugby. Northern Cass meanwhile will look to snap their three-game losing skid at Oak Grove on Thursday
