FARGO, ND – Valley City upset Kindred 65-56 in the quarterfinal round of the Region 1A Boys Basketball Tournament on Monday night.

Valley City snapped a 15-game losing streak and topped the defending state champ behind a double double performance from Jack Dieterle. The senior forward finished with 31 points and 13 rebounds as the #7 seeded Hi-Liners head to the semifinals on Tuesday night against Oak Grove at 7:30 p.m.

Gabe Whipple paced Kindred with 24 points and Gabe Iverson added 14 points in the loss. The Vikings finish the season 15-7 overall and were without junior guard Brooks Bakko with an injry.
