Larimore vs Maple River – Region 2 Baseball Tournament

Brayden Christianson struck out 13 batters to put Larimore past Maple River 4-3 Saturday in the opening game of the Region 2B baseball tournament at Mayville State University.

Larimore did all their scoring in the first inning when Levi Warnke doubled to score a run; later Logan Kyllo hit a 3 run homer to give the Polar Bears a 4-0 advantage.

Maple River responded with 3 runs in the third inning.  Ray Olstad singled in one run and McCoy Bjerke drove in 2 more to make the score 4-3.

Bridger Kasowski took the loss for Maple River; he allowed 5 hits, 4 runs, 3 walks and 8 strikeouts.

Christianson allowed 6 hits, 3 runs, 0 walks and 13 strikeouts.

Maple River ends the season 3-15.  Larimore improves to 6-11 and plays Thompson in another elimination game Saturday.
