Lisbon 38, Northern Cass 19

Cameron Opp rushed for three touchdowns and four extra points as Lisbon opened its Region 1 football season Friday with a 38-19 victory at Northern Cass.

The senior rushed 11 times for 124 yards, with scoring runs of 4, 52 and 7 yards.  Opp wasn’t the only Bronco who rushed for over 100 yards as senior Michael Nelson ran 17 times for 117 yards, including a 17 yard score.

Lisbon quarterback Wyatt Olson completed four of ten passes for 53 yards and a touchdown to Blaze Reinke, while also rushing for 65 yards on 18 carries.

Northern Cass was led by junior running back Matthew Hoppe, who carried 17 times for 142 yards and two touchdowns.  He also caught three passes for 39 yards.

Jaguars quarterback Julian Leichtenberg completed 13 of 30 passes for 153 yards and also carried 12 times for 44 yards and a touchdown.

Total offense was almost even; with Lisbon gaining 370 yards to Northern Cass’s 360.

Lisbon (1-0) travels to Hillsboro/Central Valley next Friday.  Northern Cass (0-1) plays at Ellendale-Edgeley-Kulm next week.
