Preview
Little Falls claimed the Granite Ridge Conference title as it was a 2-2 tie at Northern Lakes.
Ryan Oothoudt tallied the first goal to put the Flyers up 1-0 at 6:19 of the first period. Assists went to Luke Avery and Joey Welinski.
The Lightning tied it up with a power play goal at the 9:38 mark as Josiah Reier found the net, assisted by Wyatt Balmer. Northern Lakes took a 2-1 lead with just 16 second left in the first as it was Reier again, knocking in a rebound after a shot from Easton Anderson.
The Flyers tied things up early in the second as Avery scored at the 3:29 mark, assisted by Welinski and Derrick Young.
That would be in for the scoring as the two teams battled for the last 41 1/2 minutes but nobody could light the lamp.
The Flyers finish the regular season at 14-7-4, 2-1-1 in the GRC. The Lightning tie for the first time this year, are 15-7-1 and have games Thursday and Saturday to finish out the regular season.
