In a matchup of two teams ranked in the top ten in Minnesota Class A Football, a playoff type intensity played out on the field.  Both coaches said turnovers would be key in the game, and they turned out to be.  Both teams scored touchdowns on their second possessions in the first quarter, but a big pass play set up the Cougars second score of the quarter making it 12-6 after the first.  Both teams added a score before halftime and it was 20-14 Ada Borup West at halftime.  Then in the third quarter, after forcing a fumble, Mahnomen Waubun went on an 8+ minute drive, 86 yards in 15 plays, and Blake McMullen would punch in a touchdown to tie the game, and would win it on the two point conversion.   The fourth quarter didn’t produce any points, but back and forth chances did happen, including a highlight reel one handed interception by Tanner Stech, and then a drive by Ada Borup West that would stall out at the three yard line, with six seconds to play, Austin Mccraven to Wyatt Larson, back to Austin Mccraven, then lateral to Corbin Tennihill, to be brought down at the three yard line.
