Ada-Borup-West defeated Mahnomen-Waubun 45-38 Thursday night in Ada. The victory gets
the Cougars to 1-1 and the Thunderbirds slip to 1-3 this season.
Mahnomen-Waubun led the entire first half, holding a 21-18 halftime lead. The game was tied
at 21-21-,24-24, 26-26. The Cougars first lead was at 26-24, and after the game was tied 26-
26, Ada-Borup-West grew the lead to 39-32. The Thunderbirds got within three points 41-38,
before a Cougar free throw, and, a 3-point field goal by Morgan Smart with :15 remaining to put
the game away and the final score of 45-38. Mahnomen-Waubun plays Lake Park Audubon
Friday night with the game broadcast on KRJM 101.5 , rjbroadcasting.com and
yourlivevent.com video. Ada-Borup-West hosts Hawley on Tuesday, the game will be the late
game in a Double Header as the Cougar boys host Cass Lake Bena. Those two games will be
