Glyndon, MN — The DGF Rebels won an exciting game over the Mahnomen/Waubun Thuinderbirds 69-67 on Saturday afternoon.

The Thunderbirds made the early run jumping out to a 13-6 lead but the stingy DGF defense would propel the Rebels to a 14-0 run to take a 20-13 lead. Mahnomen/Waubun would again respond with a run of their own to take a 27-20 advantage and a 39-30 lead into halftime.

In the second half the teams traded baskets and Mahnomen/Waubun would hold the lead throughout the half and would even go up by as much 12 points. But DGF would never go away keeping the game within striking distance, taking the lead at the 69-66 mark and outscoring the Thunderbirds 13-3 in the last 16 points to win the game 69-67.

With the win, DGF is now 10-6 on the year and will play at Pelican Rapids next Tuesday. Mahnomen/Waubun falls to 6-12 and will play at Lake Park-Audubon next Tuesday.
