The Mahnomen/Waubun Thunderbirds scored two runs in the sixth inning to pull out a 6-5 win at East Polk (at Win-E-Mac). The Thunderbirds won despite being outhit 12-5 by the North Stars. Jaz Olson tossed a complete game in the circle for Mahnomen/Waubun as they improve their overall record to 4-1. The Thunderbirds fell behind 3-0 in the first inning but took the lead by scoring four runs in the third inning. Lexy Illies and Gracey Gunderson each had three hits for the North Stars as they fall to 2-2 overall. Caprina Francis drove in two runs and scored a run for the Thunderbirds. The North Stars used three pitchers in the game with Chloe Howard starting the game, followed by Paige Breitbach and Clara Kolden.
