Mahnomen-Waubun at Red Lake County

Recap

In a game of big plays it would be the Mahnomen Waubun Thunderbirds making 1 more big play to stay undefeated with a 18-13 win over the Red Lake County Rebels.  Both teams played great defense for the majority of the night, but also both offenses converted on some big plays to keep the game interesting and very close.  The Thunderbirds were able to convert on a 4th and 3 that would lead to their 2nd score giving them the lead at 12-6.  Mahnomen Waubun would also get a 79 yard run from Zach Zima for a TD to give the Thunderbirds a 18-6 lead.  The Rebels were able to convert on a 4th and 29 that would set them up for their 2nd score to make it 18-13.  With the clock winding down Mahnomen Waubun was looking at a 4th and 13 at around the Rebel 35, Zach Zima would roll out and hit Gavin McArthur on a 30 yd pass completion that would seal the win for the Thunderbirds.  This was a slug fest all night long, between 2 very good teams, Mahnomen Waubun moves to 5-0 while RLC drops to 4-1
