Mahnomen-Waubun forced 23 turnovers and all five starters scored in double figures as the Thunderbirds defeated Climax-Fisher 81-75 Friday night in Fisher.

After a first half that had 7 ties and 5 lead changes, Mahnomen-Waubun had a 38-35 halftime lead. But the Thunderbirds (12-7) roared to an 11-4 start in the second half and were not caught.

Anthony Thompson led Mahnomen-Waubun with 18 points, Brody Lhotka and Ethan Jackson both scored 16 and Taden Larson and Gavin McArthur each scored 12.

Sawyer Erickson led the Knights (7-11) with 22 points, including 6 3-point baskets.  Tyler Evitts and Branson Solheim scored 14 apiece and Ty Torrance added 11.

Climax-Fisher hosts Grygla-Goodridge Monday in Climax; Mahnomen-Waubun travels to Ada/Borup/West on Monday.
