Red Lake Falls, MN — Sacred Heart scored in all 5 innings to keep their playoff hopes alive in Section 8A as they give Mahnomen/Waubun both of their losses in the tournament.

Teegan Johnson opened up the scoring with a 2 RBI double in the top of the first for Sacred Heart. The Eagles followed up their 2 run first inning by doubling it and scoring 4 in the second to make it 6-0. The Thunderbirds were able to plate their first run in the bottom of the second after Peyton McArthur Gordon scored from third on a passed ball. The Eagles had their worst offensive inning as plated just one in the top of the 3rd, and the Thunderbirds had their best offensive inning in the bottom of the inning after plating 3, 2 of which came in from a Jaz Olson single. That would be as close as it would be the rest of the game at 7-4 as the Eagles had two more big innings including a 6 run 5th inning in which all of their runs came in with 2 outs.

Sacred Heart knocks Mahnomen/Waubun out of the Section 8A Tournament as they advance to play BGMR for a chance to reach the championship game against Red Lake Falls.
