Mahnomen/Waubun vs. Red Lake County

The Mahomen Waubun Thunderbirds are Section 8A champions for the 5th consecutive year thanks to a 21-7 win over the Red Lake County Rebles.  The Thunderbirds used big plays early to jump out to a 14-0 lead and then had to rely on their defense which would bend but not break keeping the Rebels out of the endzone 3 out 4 times when the Rebels would have the ball inside the 20 yard line.  Mahnomen Waubun would put the final touches on the win with a 4th quarter score to seal the win and advance to the state football playoffs for the 5th consecutive year with a record of 10-0 while RLC ends their season at 9-2.
