May-Port CG vs Maple River

HOPE, ND – Maple River improved to 3-3 on the season with a 38-36 Region 2 victory over May-Port CG on Friday night in 9-man football.

May-Port CG brought out the hook and ladder in the final minute as Cody Fugleberg connected with Cross Kitchen, who pitched to Gunnar Beck for a 56-yard touchdown. Patriots senior running back Cutler Peterson was denied at the goal line on the two-point conversion by Raiders linebacker Tee Sylling.

Sylling rushed for 380 yards and 6 touchdowns in the win. Maple River is now 2-1 in Region 2 play and will travel to Hankinson for their next contest.

Keaton Saastad had 2 receptions for 126 yards and 2 touchdowns for May-Port CG. The Patriots dropped to 1-5 overall and 0-2 in Region 1. MPCG hosts Enderlin for their next game.
