May-Port CG vs Thompson

The Thompson Tommies hosted the May-Port CG Patriots in a critical ND Class B Region Two Girls Volleyball showdown Tuesday night. It was a tight contest with neither team holding more than a six-point advantage at any point in the match. Despite the competitive play during the sets, the end result in each set was the same as the Tommies handed the Patriots their first loss in region play with a straight sets victory: 25-20, 25-19, 25-20.
Kiley Huebner and Abby Olson co-led the Tommies with seven kills. Andie Schwab and Jordyn Tozer led the team in aces and blocks with three and 5.5 respectively. Kennedy O’Connor led the Patriots with eight kills while Kylie Kroeplin added seven. Paetyn and Parker Strand also combined for eight kills and 7.5 blocks in the losing effort.
The Patriots, who have now lost twice to Thompson this season, both in straight sets, drop to 21-11 (8-1). Thompson improves to 18-13 (6-2). MPCG will close out the month of October at Central Cass on Thursday. Thompson will make the short trip to Larimore on Friday.
