Menahga at Pine River-Backus

The Pine River-Backus Tigers used a fast, balanced offense and pesky defense to open up their season with a 86-60 win over Menahga.
PRB started the game on a 10-0 run, eventually leading by 21 in the first half at 31-10. The aggressive defense lead to foul trouble for some starters, and it helped Menahga as the Braves cut the gap to six, 35-29, with a 19-4 run with a couple minutes remaining in the half. PRB was able to convert on back-to-back possessions to push the lead back to double digits at the break 43-33.
The Tigers started the second half fast, pushing the lead back to 20 six minutes in and didn’t look back.
Tate Norman lead with 18, Isaiah Aulie had 17, Isaiah Downie finished with 11 and Dahlton Minion came off the bench to tally 10 for the Tigers. Carder Jettman led Menahga with a game-high 24.
Menahga falls to 0-3 to start the year. The 1-0 Tigers travel to Swanville Monday.
