The St. Cloud Chutes Post 76 defeated Ada Legion Post 26 for the American Legion Baseball State Championship game 18-8 in six innings. The Chutes gathered seven hits and took advantage of three Post 26 errors in an 8-run first inning for the early lead. After the Chutes added a pair of runs in the third inning for a 10-run advantage, Ada Post 26 found their own success at the plate. Post 26 would score 8-runs in the fourth inning, all with two-outs, to make it a 10-8 score after four innings. However things would unravel in the sixth inning with the Chutes once again finding their bats, and capitalizing on Post 26 defensive errors, to score seven more runs and walk off with the 18-8 win.

St. Cloud Chutes Post 76 wins both the American Legion Division 2 Championship and the members of the team also won the Minnesota Class AA State Championship this past Spring as St. Cloud Cathedral. Ada Post 26 ties for their best finish at the State Legion Tournament – placed as runner-up in 1987 – and wins the Rocky Wedin Team Sportsmanship Award.

For Ada Post 26, Austin McCraven, Caspar Kritzberger, and Ames Fassino were all named to the All-Tournament Team.

For St. Cloud Chutes Post 76, Ryan Liebranz, Henry, Schloe, Charlie Dolan, and Caden Johnson were named to the All-Tournament Teams with Johnson also winning the Tony Sipe Outstanding Player Award.
