NC East/Ulen-Hitterdal at Fertile-Beltrami

Recap

Fertile, MN – After getting shut out in the first half, Norman County East/Ulen-Hitterdahl scores 22 unanswered points in the second half to secure the win.

Fertile-Beltrami took the games opening drive in for a touchdown, but had to convert on a 3rd and goal from the 21 yard line to do so. Braxton Paul found Adam Kobetsky to get the games first score.

After both teams traded punts, Norman County East/Ulen-Hitterdahl found some juice in their offense and worked their way down the field while taking a ton of time off the clock, but the Falcons defense stood strong once the Titans got close and got the turnover on downs on 4th and goal. It was then the Falcons turn to waste clock as they drove the length of the field before they fumbled at the 3 yard line with just 2 seconds left in the half.

The second half opened up with the Titans’ Asher Flaten returning the kick all the way to the 22 yard line. Flaten was able to later punch it in from 3 yards out and with the 2 point conversion, the Titans took the lead 8-6. The Titans had momentum all the way on their side from that point on as they would score on their next two possessions as well while shutting out the Falcons in the second half.

Norman County East/Ulen-Hitterdahl now improves to 3-4 on the season and 1-2 in Section 6. The Titans will be back at home next Wednesday to take on the Win-E-Mac Patriots.

Fertile-Beltrami falls to 2-5 on the season and 0-2 in Section 6. The Falcons will be on the road to close out the regular season next Wednesday to take on the Clearbrook-Gonvick Bears.
