The Ada-Borup-West Cougars held off a second-half rally by the Norman county East/Ulen-Hitterdal Titans for a 69-64 win. The Cougars lead 35-27 at halftime before a Titan 12-0 run put them ahead, with the Titans holding a 45-42 advantage with 12:20 remaining. A pair of free throws and a three pointer then ignited a 21-3 run by the Cougars to retake control of the game. Needing to cut the deficit the Titans tried to rally behind the defensive pressure but could not close the gap with a three pointer in the closing seconds cutting the score to the final at 69-64. The Cougars are now 3-2 overall and will next host Red Lake County on Friday night. The Titans drop to 0-3 overall and will have their first home game of the season on Friday night hosting Mahnomen/Waubun.
