ND State B Kindred vs Des Lacs Burlington

Kindred 4, Des Lacs-Burlington 3 (8 innings)

Brady Baumgarten singled in the winning run in the bottom of the eighth to give Kindred a 4-3 win over Des Lacs-Burlington Thursday in the Class B State Baseball Tournament in Jamestown.

Kindred (21-2) scored single runs in the first, fourth and fifth innings to go up 3-0.

Des Lacs-Burlington (24-4) started the seventh with a single, hit batter and walk off Vikings starter Carter Gronwald.  Reliever Brock Johnson retired the first batt, then allowing a single, walk and groundout to bring in 3 runs to tie the game.

In Kindred’s half of the 8th, the Vikings had men on first and second with 2 outs, when a Laker fielder threw wildly to second, allowing Gabe Iverson to reach third.  Baumgarten followed with the game-winning hit.

Kindred takes on LaMoure/Litchville/Marion or Velva/Drake/Annamoose In Friday’s semifinal.
