Ava Forbes led Nevis with 26 kills as the Tigers improved to 2-0 with the 3-2 win at Fosston. It was the second five set win for the Tigers as they opened their season with a 3-2 win at Park Rapids last week. The Tigers scored the last five points of the fifth set to win 15-9. Ava Hayes led the Greyhounds with 12 kills as Fosston starts the season at 0-1. Eighth Grader Emma Howard made her varsity debut with the Greyhounds and had 8 kills and 9 service points. Hatty Quam added 7 kills for Fosston. Fosston won the “B” Squad match 2-0 while Nevis won the “C” Squad match 2-1. The Greyhounds will play their next match on Thursday, August 28th when they travel to Oklee to play Red Lake County Central while Nevis will also play their next match on Thursday when they host Lake of the Woods.
