Parkers Prairie won their first section title since 2003 with a 26-6 win over New York Mills on Friday afternoon from the Fargodome in the Section 6A football championship.
The Panthers recovered a Teagan Lausten kickoff return fumble to open the second half and wasted little time taking the lead. Mason Boesl rushed for a 3-yard touchdown, five plays later as Parkers Prairie regained the lead at 12-6 with 10:21 left in the third quarter.
On the ensuing possession, Parkers Prairie blocked a Braxton Ehnert punt and recovered at the Eagles 38-yard line. Cohen Noska found Dylan Debilzen on a 38-yard touchdown on the next play from scrimmage.
David Revering rushed for a 114 yards and 1 touchdown, while Noska went 7-11 for 142 yards and 2 total touchdowns for the Panthers.
Finn Roder scored a 4-yard touchdown for New York Mills that capped a 14-play, 57-yard drive for the Eagles. Teagan Lausten had 24 rushes for 88 yards as the Eagles finished the season 4-7 overall.
The Panthers (9-2 overall) will play Mahnomen-Waubun in the Minnesota Class A quarterfinals on Friday, November 10 at 7 p.m. from Brainerd.
