Clearbrook, MN — The Clearbrook-Gonvick Bears won their first game of the season on Friday night after pounding the NCE/U-H Titans 45-0.

Clearbrook-Gonvick possessed the football five times in the first half and they scored a touchdown in each series. Around the midway point of the first quarter the Bears would draw first blood with a 27 yard touchdown pass from Carver Kroulik to Senior Hassani Bruton. At the 1:28 mark in the first frame the Bears would strike again with an eight yard TD rund from Dakota Erickson. Drive number three saw Zach Ysen finding the endzone for the first time of the season from four yards out. With 4:43 left in the second quarter the Bears would once again hit paydirt with a 22 yard touchdown run by Braxton Bjerke. And then with less then five seconds to play in the half the Kroulik would find Bruton for their second touchdown connection of the half and take a 32-0 lead into halftime.

The trend continued in the second half with the Titans struggling to move the football and the Bears scoring twice more to lead 45-0 and win by that final margin. Clearbrook-Gonvick is now 1-1 on the season and will be on the road next week at Stephen-Argyle. NCE/U-H fails to score for the second week in a row and now falling to 0-2. The Titans will host BGMR next week for their homecoming.
