For the 6th time this season the Mahnomen Waubun Thunderbirds played a 5 set match and picked up a win 3-2 over the Norman County East Ulen Hitterdahl Titans.  The Thunderbirds had a solid start winning the first 2 sets with solid hitting a serving.  The Titans came back with momentum and energy in sets 3 and 4 with aggressive serving and some big hits, and impressive digs to tie the match.  In the 5th set, it would go back and forth to begin with until the Titans would creat some separation building an 11-8 lead.  Mahnomen Waubun would get a side out and Kennedy McArthur would go to the line and rattle off 6 in a row to give the Thunderbirds the lead and match point.  The Titans would have a hitting error and the Thunderbirds would go on for the win.
