Erskine, MN — The NCE/U-H Titans got back in the win column with an 86-66 win over the Win E Mac Patriots on Thursday night.

Both teams displayed great shooting, respectively, as Win E Mac’s Joe Courneya nailed four first half 3-pointers and that helped the Patriots take an 18-14 lead. For NCE/U-H they hit seven first half 3-pointers and the hot shooting was the catalyst to a 15-0 scoring run to lead 29-18 at the 10 minute mark. The Patriots would respond by cutting that deficit to six points not long after. But the Titans offense would stay hot and they led 47-32 at half.

In the second half the Titans lead never dwindled below ten points. Coming into the game NCE/U-H was plagued by 2-3 minute lapses in recent losses where they would go cold on offense and loosen up on defense allowing their opponents to take the lead. No such lapse would occur on Thursday night. The Titans seemingly had an answer for everything holding Win E Mac at bay at closing out the 86-66 win.

NCE/U-H is now 7-9 on the season and will play at Lake Park-Audubon next Monday. For Win E Mac, they’ve lost 7 of their last 8 games falling to 7-9 on the year. They will be on the road Friday to play the Bagley Flyers.
