North Dakota State Class B Girls Basketball Semifinals – Central Cass vs Rugby

Decontee Smith’s basket with 30 seconds remaining in overtime gave Central Cass a 53-52 victory over Rugby and a berth in the State Class B Girls Basketball Tournament Championship game.

Smith also made two free throws with 20 seconds remaining in regulation to tie the game at 48 and send the game to an extra four minutes.

The senior, who will play at Northern State next year, had 31 points and 13 rebounds as the Squirrels (22-3) advance to Saturday’s State Title game against Thompson.

Mykell Heidlebaugh had 15 points for Rugby, with teammate Kendyl Hager adding 14 and Joey Wolf 11.  Rugby (22-3) will play Garrison in Saturday’s third place game.
