Central Cass 61, Bowman County 28
Central Cass forced 14 first quarter turnovers, jumped to a 15-0 lead and the Squirrels defeated Bowman County 61-28 in the first quarterfinal game in the North Dakota Class B State Girls Basketball Tournament in Minot.
Decontee Smith scored 22 points and Klaire Cotton 18 to lead the Squirrels to their 13th consecutive victory and a spot in Friday’s semifinal round. In all, the Squirrels forced 26 turnovers and held the Bulldogs to 26.3% shooting.
Jaci Fischer scored 12 points to lead Bowman County. The Bulldogs are now 22-3 overall and will play Langdon Area-Edmore-Munich in the consolation round Friday afternoon.
Central Cass (21-3) meets Rugby (22-2) Friday night in the State Semifinals.
