Northern Lakes at Little Falls

Luke Avery scored 59 seconds into overtime, lifting Little Falls to a 2-1 victory over Northern Lakes in their first meeting of the year.

After a scoreless first period, Northern Lakes tallied their only goal early in the second to take a 1-0 lead. Jerome Martin scored with the assist to Jacob Peterson.

The Lightning held the 1-0 lead into the third. Ryan Oothoudt scored the tying goal for the Flyers at the 6:41 mark, assisted by Kyler Schmidgall. Both teams had opportunities but couldn’t net another score as regulation time ran out.

Avery’s game-winner was assisted by Oothoudt as the Flyers outshot the Lightning 36-32 and wins their sixth straight in the series. Little Falls improves to 10-4-2, 2-0 in the Granite Ridge Conference while Northern Lakes falls to 10-6 (0-2 GRC).

The rematch is Tuesday February 11th in Breezy Point. The game broadcast will be on Skeeter 101.5.
