Five Thompson players scored in double figures Tuesday as the 5th-ranked Tommies defeated Oak Grove 84-52 in Thompson.

Gavin Krogstad scored 21 points for Thompson (11-3), with Karter Peterson adding 18, Drew Odenbach 15, Gavin Oster 12 and Noah Hippen 10.  The Tommies also out-rebounded Oak Grove 44-18.

Oak Grove took an early 11-6 lead with Aidan Saunders scoring all the Grovers’ points.  Thompson then went on a 11-0 run to lead after the first quarter 17-11.  The Tommies never trailed after that, leading 33-25 at halftime and 57-38 after three quarters.

Saunders led Oak Grove (3-12) with 17 points, including 5 three-point baskets.  The Grovers had 12 threes on the night.  Karter Koenig had 4 of his own as part of a 12 point night.

Thompson was 11 of 16 at the foul line, while Oak Grove was 4 of 6.  Thompson committed 12 turnovers to Oak Grove’s 11.

Thompson’s next game is Friday at home against Fertile-Beltrami.  Oak Grove travels to top-ranked Kindred on Friday.
