The Oakes Tornadoes nearly doubled the number of offensive plays run to control the ball and the game in defeating the Hillsboro/Central Valley Burros 21-0. The Tornadoes had 15 first downs and ran 68 plays for 368 offensive yards, compared to 77 yards on 36 plays with just two first downs for the Burros. The Tornadoes also came with a balanced attack with Mario Garza (18 carries, 88 yards, TD) and Trey Skoglund (17 carries, 71 yards, TD) handling the ground game with Quarterback Beau Thorpe passing for 204 yards and a TD on the day.
Oakes improves to 3-1 with a home game against Kindred next week while the Burros, now 2-3 overall, travel to face Central Cass next week.
