Park Christian 56, Climax-Fisher 47
Back to back baskets by Avery Aakre followed by a three pointer broke a 47-all tie and spurred Park Christian to a 56-47 win over Climax-Fisher Tuesday night in Climax.
Park Christian was up 27-21 at halftime, but the Knights rallied to go in front 40-34 as Lucy Paulsrud scored all seven of her points in a quick second half stretch. And Peyton Hoffman scored a game high 28 for Climax-Fisher. The Knights were ahead 40-34 with some eight minutes to play.
Then the Falcons rallied. Annika Frueh hit a three to put Park Christian ahead 47-46. Hoffman made one of two free throws to tie the game at 47. With 2:28 to play, Kaycee Endreson made two free throws to put the Falcons in front 49-47. 18 seconds later, Aakre scored to make it a four point lead. Then she made a steal and a basket to give Park Christian a 53-47 lead. With a minute to play, Aakre hit a three to settle the issue.
Aakre had 13 points for Park Christian (5-0), with teammates Endreson and Annika Johnson scoring ten apiece. The Falcons travel to Lake Park-Audubon Friday night.
Climax-Fisher is now 1-4 on the season. The Knights are off until next Tuesday, when they host Win-E-Mac in Fisher.
