Park Christian at Fosston

Recap

Fosston, MN — The Fosston Greyhounds volleyball team secured their second straight 3-0 sweep Thursday night, outlasting the Park Christian Falcons in a tightly contested Pine to Prairie Conference matchup, 25-22, 25-22, 25-23.

The opening set delivered exactly what was expected from two familiar conference opponents: long rallies, tight margins, and constant momentum swings. The frame featured 11 ties and four lead changes, with neither team able to create separation until Fosston finally broke through at 20-19. From there, the Greyhounds controlled the final stretch and closed out the set 25-22.

Set two mirrored the opener in competitiveness, though Fosston briefly created its largest cushion of the night. The Greyhounds pushed ahead 17-12, prompting Park Christian’s first timeout. The Falcons responded well, trimming the deficit to 23-21, but Fosston’s steadiness in the final exchanges sealed another 25-22 victory.

The third set brought the night’s biggest adversity for Fosston. Leading 18-17, the Greyhounds were hit with a rotational error/illegal substitution ruling that resulted in a delay and a point awarded to Park Christian, flipping the score to 19-17 Falcons. The moment could have shifted momentum, but Fosston stayed composed. Their aggressive hitting attack resurfaced, sparking a rally that reclaimed the lead at 21-20. The Greyhounds maintained control from there, finishing the sweep with a 25-23 win.

With the impressive conference victory, Fosston improves to 7-3 overall and will travel to Roseau next Tuesday to face the Rams. Park Christian drops to 2-3 and returns home Tuesday to host Fertile‑Beltrami.
